Every week, Tomorrowland and One World Radio select a new Tune of the Week. This week's pick, guaranteed to keep you moving, is 'Whatever Turns You On' by Axwell and Bonn.
Axwell is back - and he’s sounding right at home. His new single ‘Whatever Turns You On’, featuring Swedish singer-songwriter Bonn, is this week’s Tune of the Week on One World Radio.
Released via Axwell’s own Axtone label, the track marks his first new solo single in over a year and follows last year’s ‘Until the Lights Go Out’. It also feels like another confident step in this new chapter of his solo journey, with Axwell describing the record as something that had been “building” inside him for some time.
Built around a smooth, driving progressive house groove,‘Whatever Turns You On’ has that classic Axwell warmth: big synths, polished production and an emotional pull that grows with every play. Bonn’s vocals give the track its heart, adding a romantic, slightly mysterious edge to the record.
The collaboration makes a lot of sense too. Bonn has previously worked with artists like Martin Garrix and Avicii, and on this track, his voice fits perfectly into Axwell’s bright, melodic world. Axwell himself said working with Bonn was “a great joy,” adding that they shared the same instinct for what the record should feel like.
With its feel-good energy, sleek production and instantly memorable vocal, ‘Whatever Turns You On’ is an easy fit for One World Radio’s Tune of the Week - a track made for summer evenings, festival moments and turning the volume up.
