First off, we choose to take a positive attitude that things will work out for the best, as opposed to expecting things to go bad. Speaking evil talks in future tense.. like "I'll probably get fired" and carries an expectation that evil will happen. It almost welcomes it. So we choose to NOT welcome bad things. Saying "I'm glad I didn't get fired" is NOT speaking evil. It is in past tense. Saying "what if I had gotten fired.." isn't speaking evil either, because it's a speculation of a past event. See the difference? One carries an expectation of the bad and/or a welcoming of the bad, like "you'll shoot your eye out!"
