Michael, thanks for the review of this drive. Very helpful and informative. I actually have a couple of FreeAgents...my needs aren't intense in terms of speed and I just have them connected over USB, although I'd prefer eSATA. I'll have to see if it's even worth my effort now with this drive.

But I agree with your point. If you're going to advertise eSATA, it should work as expected!

Hey.. you finally got around to reading my blog. Thanks for commenting.

"The reviewer" wants you to know that this entire site is about the higher end of the tech scene - I'll add it somewhere for readers so they know.

Anyway, the drive is slow dude. If you're not going to use E-Sata don't buy the PRO version of the drive. The only reason to get a Pro over a regular FreeAgent is the speed of the esata.

COUNTER POINT:
Saying the FreeAgent drive is "NOT GOOD" is a bit misleading. I have 2 and they work flawlessly so far. I have some friends who also have the drives and they would agree. However, we are not using the ESATA we are using Firewire so for us its no issue. Most people don't know or care about ESATA. These drives are quiet run cool and look neat. I will totally buy another FreeAngent when its time for a new drive. The reviewer would do better to inform his readers that this drive was not very well suited to his particular needs.
